Youth and children constitute the future of any society. The mental, physical and emotional development of the children and imparting values, guidance and motivation to the youth are seeds of the tree that will bear fruits of prosperous, happy and peaceful society.
Women, being the nerve center of family system and natural guardian of their children, have to take on the responsibility of holistic development of children. To enable them fulfill this responsibility, it is essential to the empower them. Hence the most important aspects of social development are:
1. Indoctrination of the value system in its youth (SANSKAR)
2. Motivation and empowerment of the weaker selections specially Women (PRERNA)
3. Providing forum for involvement of maximum no. of people in building of a peaceful and prosperous society (MANCH)
SANSKAR PRERNA MANCH is a non profit, non government organization, outcome of amalgamation of thoughts and ideas of professionals from different fields. Its trustees include eminent educationalists, businessmen, doctors, politicians, housewives etc.
In the last 10 years of its existence SPM has been working for empowerment of women in urban slums, and spreading the value system through religious programs.
Its mission is to progress towards a peaceful and prosperous society through empowerment of weaker sections, sensitization of the society towards them and indoctrination of moral values in people at large.
ACTIVITIES
· EMPOWERMENT OF WEAKER SECTIONS:
o Vocational training institutes for economically backward sections
o Camps for strengthening of women for prevention of crimes against women and to spread awareness about their rights, laws and procedures to fight against such crimes.
o Extracurricular and cultural events and competitions for children of weaker sections for their all around development.
o Regular Health check up camps in economically backward colonies.
· IMPARTING OF MORAL & RELIGIOUS VALUES
o SPM regularly conducts religious discourses for development of peaceful mind &soul.
o SPM is also involved in propagation of basic principals of Hinduism. We plan to build a temple for Shakambhari Devi (one of the nine ‘roops’ of Goddess Durga) in Delhi. Project report for the same has been submitted to DDA for allotment of land for the purpose.
· SENSITISATION OF THE SOCIETY TOWARDS PROBLEMS OF WEAKER SECTIONS
o SPM has launched a website www.greatergoodtalk.com , where regularly interviews of eminent people involved in progress of our society will be published. It provides a portal for the internet savvy youth of today to interact with these people. This not only evokes the feeling of responsibility towards their society, in the educated and resourceful people, but also guides them of the ways and means to make their contribution towards development of the weaker sections of society.
